Mission

Founded in 2013, the LilyPED Centre is committed to positively transforming the lives of neurodivergent individuals. By moving beyond the traditional deficit-centered model, we adopt a conscious and inclusive approach, informed by the latest advances in neuroscience.

A personal commitment

Aniko Burjan, M.Ed., founder of the LilyPED Centre, is a psychoeducator specializing in the development of neurodivergent individuals. She has over 28 years of professional experience in various educational and clinical settings. She is a registered member of the Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (Quebec Order of Psychoeducators).

Professional Journey

Shortly after completing her university studies, Aniko began working with autistic individuals and people with intellectual disabilities. This experience quickly emerged as her natural career path, driven by a lasting passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals. Her professional journey has also led her to develop extensive expertise in working with First Nations communities.

Preferred Approach

Drawing on her extensive hands-on experience, Aniko developed her own approach: Inclusive Conscious Education, a strengths-based model informed by the latest advances in neuroscience.

The term “conscious” emphasizes the recognition and understanding of the neurological differences inherent to neurodivergent profiles. “Inclusive,” on the other hand, highlights the importance of adapting environments and systems to create the conditions that allow each person to thrive and reach their full potential

Knowledge sharing

For over 20 years, Aniko has shared her expertise through presentations and conferences in Quebec and internationally. She offers a variety of training programs designed to inform, support, and inspire educators, professionals, and parents about neurodiversity and inclusive education. Her dynamic, accessible, and humorous style makes complex concepts easy to understand and put into practice.
